Ume what? Ume-sho-kudzu drink strengthens your digestion, alkalizes your blood. It’s helpfull also with menstrual cramps, headaches, acid reflux and belly pain, nausea, diarrhea, flu and many many other conditions. Effective and safe!

Ah, I see…

What are the ingredients?
1 cup of spring water
1 heaped tablespoon of kudzu *, premium quality
1/2 - 1 umeboshi *
a few drops of Yamaki shoyu * or tamari *

* Tampopo Foods product

And how do I make it?
1. Bring 3/4 of the water to a boil.
2. Dissolve the kuzu in the remaining 1/4 of cold water.
3. While stirring, add the disolved kudzu into the boiling water and let it thicken. The color will change from whitish to transparant.
4. Lower the flame, add the fine cut umeboshi and the Yamaki shoyu.
5. Simmer another 30 seconds.
6. Take this drink warm, preferably on an empty stomach in the morning, or in between the meals or in the evening.

Once you make it, you will know the consistence of the drink.
Next time, if desired, you can adjust the thickness of the drink by adding more or less kudzu.

And wait!
Inside the umeboshi is a little pit that can be cracked with a nutcracker (not with your teeth, please ;-)) and then eaten.
It has a refreshing salty-sour taste and it’s very nutritious.

Adding 1 tablespoon of kohren lotus root powder * and a 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder (in step nr. 1) will be very helpful if you cough. It helps your body to segregate and easily discharge accumulated mucus. And will soothe your throat too.
